Parking System

In the city of Szeged, paid parking is available on weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., as well as on Saturdays (in Mars Square, Boross J., Pulz, Csemegi, Pozsonyi, and Cserzy M. streets) from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The city is divided into four zones (green, yellow, blue, and purple), which are indicated by supplementary signs on the traffic sign indicating the parking zone. You can purchase a parking permit at the parking meter located in the respective zone, which also indicates the color of the zone, or via mobile phone. When purchasing via mobile phone, you need to provide the zone code corresponding to the specific zone. Each of the four colors has six zone codes, so before starting your parking, always make sure to use the correct zone code. The minimum parking time is 15 minutes, and the maximum parking time is 4 hours in the green zone, and 6 hours in the yellow, blue, and purple zones when using a parking ticket (excluding daily tickets). However, for mobile phone parking, the maximum parking time is also 4 hours in these zones. Parking entitlements: If the driver of the vehicle parks without a parking ticket, permit, or disabled parking permit, or if they improperly display the ticket, permit, or disabled parking permit, they commit an offense and are obliged to pay a fine. Unauthorized parking is determined by the inspectors of the operator. In all cases, photographic evidence is taken during inspections, and if the vehicle does not have parking entitlement, our inspectors issue a payment request. The photographic evidence is stored in the operator’s parking system and is used as evidence in case of disputes.

When using this permit, please display it on the windshield of the vehicle in a fully visible and verifiable manner.

The operation of the parking system is regulated by the municipal decree of the Municipality of Szeged.

Disabled parking

In the member states of the European Union, parking spaces designated for people with disabilities are marked with the wheelchair symbol on roads and parking areas. On public streets, signs indicating parking spaces for disabled individuals are often used, sometimes accompanied by the number of available spaces. In many places, parking is free and without time restrictions, while in some locations, payment is required for parking. Parking is prohibited where signs explicitly state so, and even with a disabled parking permit, parking is not allowed.

Please place the disabled parking permit in the vehicle in a fully visible and verifiable manner. The method of placement is indicated on the disabled parking permit itself. Please pay attention to the validity period of the disabled parking permit and the method of placement.

According to Section 12. § (1) of the Municipal Decree No. 18/2022 (VII.5.), parking entitlement cannot be verified retroactively by presenting the disabled parking permit.
